Dubrovnik is port city and tourist attraction located on the Adriatic Sea in the extreme south of Croatia in Dalmatia.Center is the Dubrovnik Neretva Country.As almost all the cities,so for Dubrovnik do not know when it is established.Old traditions,which mentioned the Byzantine emperor Constantine in the middle of 10 th century,says that established Dubrovnik refugees from the roman city of Epidaurus(which is on the site of today’s Cavtat,12km southeast of Dubrovnik),since the beginning of the 17th century,destroyed by the Slavs and Avars.Recent excavations,carried out after the earthquake in Montenegro in 1979 year,showed that the first of the cliff there Byzantine military fort in which the refugees came from Epidaurus. |
